Web Experience Internship @ ETS

TOEIC Test Taker Resources Page

June 2025 - July 2025

Overview:
ETS has been modernizing its product websites to improve usability and align with brand standards. My project focused on reimagining the TOEIC Test web experience, a standardized test assessing English proficiency for non-native speakers.

The Challenge:

  • Test-taker resources were scattered across multiple pages, making them hard to find.

  • Test takers were completing actions meant only for organizations and institutions.

  • Navigation was unclear, leading to confusion and increased support inquiries.

The Solution:

  • Centralized Resources

    • Designed a dedicated Test Taker Hub consolidating all essential resources in one place.

  • Segmented Navigation

    • Created a new navigation bar with clear sections:

      • Organizations & Institutions

      • Test Takers

  • User-Centered Design Process

    • Worked in Figma to produce wireframes, mockups, and final designs.

    • Iterated designs based on feedback from my manager and the lead UX/UI designer.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Attended meetings with stakeholders and developers to ensure design alignment with business goals, brand standards, and development constraints.

Outcome:

  • Streamlined user journey for test takers.

  • Reduced likelihood of misdirected actions between audiences.

  • Improved clarity and brand consistency across the TOEIC site.
